Fiber Art Print: Riparian Dreams
Riparian Dreams is a meditation on rivers as liminal spaces, where land and water meet, shift, and shape one another over geologic time. This work explores the mutual relationship between terrain and current: how rivers carve landscapes even as they are guided by them. While creating this piece, the artist Rhys-T Hansen imagined what a river might dream of as it flows, its erosion and floods as expressions of desire, rhythm, and memory.
Wool textures and striping evoke motion and fluidity, inviting the river’s presence not only as a physical force, but as a dreaming, breathing body. The tactile quality of the materials echoes, and contrasts, water’s ceaseless movement.
At first glance, and even the second and third, you might believe you’re looking at a three-dimensional textile. This fine art print captures every nuanced detail of the original fiber work with stunning clarity: the softness of wool, the depth of layered yarn, and the vibrant, flowing interplay of color.
Professionally photographed in high resolution and printed on museum-grade, acid-free rag paper, each image preserves the tactile illusion and emotional essence of the original piece.
